This website links to Fern on the App Store and Google Play. It does not ask for an email, and it does not install the app itself. Apple and Google handle the download on their own sites.
Optional analytics (Google Analytics 4) loads only after you choose “Allow analytics,” and only when a measurement ID is configured. “Essential only” leaves it unloaded.
The Fern app itself, as built today, keeps cycle logs in a database on the phone. It has no account and does not send that log to a Fern server. A PIN, when you set one, is stored in the phone keychain. Encrypted backup is not in this version.
